Vth Team acquires hot new squad
Like its neighbours Chelsea, Magdalen's Vth Team has made some dashing moves in the transfer market and picked up some additional talent. David Sharples joins after a dawn swoop, and his graceful serve-and-volley game will "come in useful." Rob Harradine, a tyro coach, also joins the line-up. Paulo Schmetzer, a former 4th team prospect, was scooped up in the seasonal shuffle.
Sadly, though, the voracious 3rd team poached the demon kiwi, Ewan Cameron, bribing him with false promises. "You never knew what Ewan would serve up next," commented one erstwhile team-mate.
The full squad is Jon Adamson, Marcus Clay, Rob Harradine, Zaki Razvi, Paulo Schmetzer, David Sharples and Roger Willcocks (Skipper). Approximate value: £32.45p
OK - so we don't have Abramovich's millions and Roger is no Ranieri, but we've got better Winter tennis than the 4th team.
